There was a time when I thought I was the only one whose life was so negatively impacted by this wretched organization. This could be so helpful to so many.
About 2 years ago, I was relatively new to the Phoenix area, I had just lost a job and was in dire need of some money, and fast. So innocently enough, I applied to a monster post for some advertising, management training job. Almost the next day I was brought in for my initial interview, and of course after Vince interviewed me for 5 minutes, I was scheduled for the infamous "Day of O" the following day. I was assigned to pitch DirecTV to people in a Home Depot, given the pitch, and as so many Innovage/DS-Maxers before and since, I was in desperate straits. I took the gig. Hey, if it didn't work out, I could always find another job.
Problem is, of course you never have anytime to actually seek employment elsewhere. From dawn past dusk, the business begins to consume your life. What a strange business. People living together in the houses only for those in the business, being ready to quit each and every day only to be sucked back in at night for another go around. It's like no other ride around. What a geniune psych job they can do on people. I think I made less than $3000 in over three months there, yet they kept me coming back. I wanted to be in leadership, I wanted the life so many claim.
Little did I know the boss Craig, was an abusive lecher who had the mindgame down pat. This job almost ruined my life, between the awful self-esteem pounding atmosphere that vacilitated between highs and bottomless lows, and atrocious pay.
I was smarter than this right? Looking back, I guess I always new it was all a giant scam, probably why I became "negged out" and was let go for just that. I had the audacity to criticize the "opportunity".
What a blessing. Now I almost ready to complete my MBA, and embark on a great career. For all those in, GET OUT. Please don't let this organization ruin any more lives..
