Hey, whats up!
I feel i should tell my story since i didn't get around to it on the old site. Enjoy my wall of text.
Its been a very long time since i was in the business. I believe it was 2002 summer to 2005 spring. I started in the Oshawa location In Canada with One-Six enterprises under Adam Strimaitis. I went on Day of O with his sister Erin in Toronto on the Domino's pizza campaign (needless to say this was advertising division known then as Granton Marketing). Anyways she convinced me i could make millions and even though she only sold 6 or 7 Adam still let her and I ring the bell! lol, classic promotion maneuver.
After salesing it up for a couple months I got promoted to leader. At that time you would need to ring the bell (or sell 10 cards) 1 week straight to get a promotion and it took me a while cuz i sucked at this so called peddling.
I got my first team with the infamous and "JUICEY" Pizza Pizza campaign and made at least 100$ a day (This was rare and a promotion like that only came along once a year).
Fast forwarding a bit. Adam and Erin decided with Matt Kelly to start an office in Burnaby B.C. and to take a hand full of guys there. Needles to say i was among that handful of guys. I sucked out there and blamed it all on the geriatrics and Chinese people lol (I realize now that they just new better and i was just another annoyance). I was living in a house with Erin and 10 other peddlers at Canada Way and Imperial RD. I left cuz I couldn't pay rent and ended up by ripping off the person that lent me the money who im sure was also suffering but just couldn't say.
I moved back to Oshawa and I certainly should have had enough but nope. I started working with Terry the new manager in oshawa. we did the Dagmar campaign and once again it was once a year promotions where you make 100$ a day so i was satisfied. At this point I knew what was up and just didn't care as it just liked hanging out with the people in the office. Even though I could have gone back to school I completely ruined myself as I lied to all my friends and told them I made a killing in BC while i was there so being young I wasn't going to mess with my super huge EGO.
I then worked there for an additional year and a half and eventually becoming a huge Neg sleeper lol. I then realised that with all the knowledge I had learned that me and a couple friends ended up quitting and starting our own coupon peddling buisness and contracted some independent guy named Fred Ward to sell us his coupons for super cheap and make almost full price on the books. I ended up by doing this for another year and actually made a nuts load of money that I invested into Bonds and such only to watch all that money practically become nothing this year as stock plummeted lol.
Needless to say its been long enough to realize i left his company with some seriously nice skills after 3 yrs. Obviously there were negatives and they were the same as everyone else here because i was a coupon pushing peddler that liked to hit the pavement knowing it was a scam 2/3rds of the time i was there. Everyone eventually figures it out and knows only the managers best friend in the office will get promoted assuming that office doesn't already suck. I think the best thing i did was join this club to find out how shiesty people can be and how to maneuver it. I ended up by going back to school took the advice of a guy that had a viel stain on his shirt and slamed the door in my face telling me to "get a real job you $&%* coupon peddler".
that about the just. Any questions? lol
