Hi, I'm graduating this spring so I started applying to jobs in the marketing/advertising field. I got call backs from 2 companies that I think might be part of this. The Acquisiton Group and Northeast Consulting Inc. I found these jobs through monster.com and saw they had a lot of postings, which is rare in this economy! The websites are exactly the same thing, almost verbatum. It's all about "face-to-face" marketing. Do not work for them!

Sports Marketing International in Lombard, Illinois (Chicago suburbs) has changed it's name to FAST TRACK.
Hi, there. I've been filing complaints against Sports Marketing International, also known as SMI, or SMI, Inc., and SMI and Associates... The old manager there was Greg Mertes who has *supposedly* been removed and Doug Ascher has been using his name to currently publicize this location in Lombard, Illinois.
They've recently changed their name to FAST TRACK, though there are still job ads posted for SMI... The address of both Sports Marketing International and FAST TRACk is: 2801 S. Fairfield Ave., Suite A, Lombard, Illinois. Supposed contact is "Jessica Graham" at (630) 810-9012.
The nerve of this company! Their most recent job ads for Sports Marketing International include a non-working link to a supposed press release on the company. Laughable!

Houston Texas Consulting, located in (you guessed it) Houston, Texas; and also Balboa Concepts and Houston Marketing Firm in Houston, Texas. Both Balboa and Houston Marketing Firm are sharing an office in a building on N. Post Oak Rd.

I never started working for any of them but I did interview with all of these companies and did some research as well. The two that I know of that run a Directv campaign are DMC Atlanta (Dynamic Marketing Concepts) and J&W Business Acquisitions. A third one running a Quill campaign is called Buckhead Business Consulting (BBC).
All of them had cool names of course.
I believe DMC and BBC have a relation of some sorts as the owner of the latter has pictures (one would assume they were married) with an owner at DMC, a man of a last name called Figueroa. I mention him because I've also read an article about a Figueroa Marketing based in NY. I also saw the second DMC partner at the BBC offices once.
I can't say the people are bad or anything because that is personal but the business model is flawed and I will not work for them. All of the things mentioned in Dsmax forums and articles are true up to the foosball table and loud music in the waiting room. I have been at their offices early for interviews and heard their loud meetings although I never heard the term "juice" used at all.
Too bad it seems like they have nice, young and well-meaning group of people that just want to get ahead in life or pay rent in this bad economy. The probably haven't done the research to realize that they wont make it with this business model and that they should.view this job as temporary at best.
The business model is flawed because it is setup to grow organically, like a virus, to benefit the people at the top of the structure. It isnt a pyramid BTW it just has a triangular shape with a small group of exploiters on top and a whole lotta suckers on the bottom, kind of like the pyramids in Egypt, the good one not those bad ones in finance ;D. As the business grows internally it breeds owners who went through tough times as reps making minimum wage with no security, all the while dreaming of making rich. It therefore makes sense that when they become owners they also want to screw their reps to live comfortably. If they paid reps better and had benefits they would lower their turnover rates. Of course that makes the virus reproduce slower and benefits the salespeople not the top of the pyramid so it won't happen.

Wow, got back from my first interview with a group earlier, decided to research it, glad I did.
UK based "Sparq Promotions Ltd", they have two branches (that I know of) one in Maidstone and one in Brighton.

The Direct TV campaign has grown to over 60 offices. Oryx (Nashville, TN), Lynx (Indianapolis, IN), DMC (Atlanta, GA), Mad House Marketing, and many others are recruiting young people to run into the ground on their dreams of financial freedom. The management training program is a pyramid scheme. Less than .05% of reps ever make it through the program but every week you stay you make Cydcor money so they sell you on "opportunity."
